NEWS UPDATE 22/01/2020: A date for the deferred Goulburn Carnival of Cups race day is yet to be confirmed; committee and Harness Racing NSW now looking at a date later in the year, perhaps June 2020.
GOULBURN’s Carnival of Cups race day has been re-scheduled
to Sunday afternoon the 26 April, 2020.
The continuing bush fire emergency gripping the south east of the state has caused many race meetings to be cancelled. The Goulburn Club had their 23 December, 2019 meeting abandoned due to poor air quality, as was last Sunday’s Hewitt Memorial race day.
With the uncertainty of good weather conditions in the foreseeable future, and the significant financial risk associated with having a Carnival of Cups day meeting cancelled on race day, the club’s committee approached Harness Racing NSW with a proposal to defer the Carnival of Cups race day to
Sunday 26 April, 2020 when hopefully the bush fire emergency has ended.
Vacating the original Carnival of Cups day has allowed the club to request the re-scheduling of Hewitt Memorial race day to this coming Sunday the 19 January.
Gates to the Goulburn Paceway will be open from 12 noon and the club’s committee invites all harness fans to come out and experience the wonderful facilities of the Grace Millson Centre. Enjoy quality food and a wide range of cold alcoholic and soft drinks whilst watching all the racing action in comfort.
Goulburn’ Carnival of Cups is brought to fans by the kind support of Tabcorp, Goulburn Soldiers Club, Hollingworth Crane Hire Service, Randwick Equine Centre, Southern Highlands Equine Centre, Sun Solutions Goulburn, Benstud, RSM Accountants, and a host of smaller businesses including Top Water Carters Crookwell, First National Real Estate Goulburn, Goulburn Livestock Transport, Landmark Southern Livestock Agenices , J A Communications, Crust Gourmet Pizza, Glen Mia ACT Saddlery, and ASPIRE Traffic Offender Course.
