Carnival of Cups:
The ‘Frank & Edna Day’ Carnival of Cups race day is the Goulburn club’s principal meeting of the season. Held now on the 3rd Sunday of January, the fixture hosts the best available horses in New South Wales and provides harness fans and families an outstanding afternoon of entertainment
The clubs signature race is the Goulburn Soldiers Club sponsored Frank & Edna Day Goulburn Cup. The $30,000 Group 3 race is contested over the 2240 metre distance and the honour role lists many of Australia’s very best pacers including Inter Dominion winner Tiger Tara, Miracle Mile winner Baby Bling, and the course and race record holder For A Reason who lists among his many other wins the 2013 Victoria Cup
While the racing is the big draw card, Carnival of Cups race day also brings many side attractions with entertainment for all the family
The day is also used to support important local organisations. In previous years, the gate takings have been donated to Convoy For Kids Goulburn, Goulburn High School and the Goulburn Base Hospital. Due to Covid 19 and the limitations on numbers of people attending, we have put on hold until 2022 fund raising for a local charity.
